The site of the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) is a vital factor in
making it a most ideal learning institution. The mystical mountain of Maria Makiling
is deemed to be a powerful source of inspiration for artistic endeavors among
young artists and their mentors.
Several clusters of bahay kubo-inspired cottages in the school area serve as
classrooms, science laboratories, library, instructional media center, computer
room, and practice rooms for Music and Theater Arts students. The administration office,
faculty room, meeting room, medical clinic, and guidance and counseling office complete
the facilities at the school area.
Other instructional facilities include the Tanghalang Maria Makiling equipped
with the latest in lights and sound technology, Ballet Studio, Folk Dance Rehearsal
Hall, Visual Arts and Photography Studios, Journalism Room, listening room, and
reading library. Another thirty cottages serve as residence for the students,
teachers, and support staff. Private social functions, seminars, workshops, and
art camps can be held at the National Arts Center's (NAC) Clubhouse, Marvilla Cottages,
and St. Marc's Chapel, an ecumenical chapel which is nestled amidst the Makiling rainforest.
